The Independent Patchwork Retailers Association (Australia) has been established to help our Patchwork and Sewing Shops provide a more enjoyable and beneficial shopping experience to their customer fraternity. Most of our local patchwork and sewing shops are small businesses, but they must provide so much.

As patchworkers and creative sewers we want so much. We like a big range of fabrics to choose from, we want all our sewing accessories and habby to be available when required, we want a wide variety of classes to choose from and competent tutors to teach us. We want advice on our sewing problems when we need it, and we must have our machines promptly and properly repaired when they break down. We look forward to support from our local patchwork shops for our Guild events too. Most of all, we look forward to friendly, knowledgeable staff and a shop with a good feel, where we know that we are valued and respected!

As you can see, the challenges for owners and staff of individually owned patchwork shops can be quite daunting. Our patchwork and quilting craft is becoming more varied too, with new materials, techniques, and computer software to keep up with! Combine that with maybe two or three sewing machine brands with each brand spanning from basic sewing machines to top of the line computerized embroidery machines, and you will appreciate the challenges that most patchwork shop owners and their staff face!

When you see a shop displaying our “Patchworker Retail Network” logo, you can be sure that the owners and their staff are dedicated to providing excellent service and a memorable shopping experience.

Our events include Shop Hops, Quilt Shows, Quilting Retreats, Competitions, Prizes, visiting tutors and speakers, & the like.
